Field Trip
The National Organizing Committee organized a field trip for the conference participants. The trip was related to the conference theme 'Enhancing ecosystem services through ecological restoration for nature and people', and provided unique opportunities to experience diverse Jordanian ecosystems and beauty.
Yarmouk Nature Reserve and Umm Qais Archaeological Site
Yarmouk Nature Reserve (RSCN) and Umm Qais Archaeological Site; linkage of naturalcultural heritage, ecotourism, biodiversity conservation, rangeland management, land restoration and conservation measures in protected areas. Demonstration of the sustainable rangeland management initiative implemented by Al Yarmouk Livestock
Association; targeting natural rangelands in and around the Yarmouk Forest Reserve Included visits to Al Wasatiyyeh forest education initiative (environmental learning center, focusing on forest conservation and rehabilitation through interactive field based learning for schools and community members, in addition to a small botanic garden using native plant species), Shuleh Women Cooperative and Saham heritage trail
(development of a nature-culture trail in the wilderness areas of Saham where visitors were invited to enjoy and learn about nature, history and local traditions).
