The conference will take place at the Wageningen International Congress Centre (WICC), located at the edge of Wageningen's centre, making it easily accessible for attendees from within the Netherlands and internationally. You can easily explore the historic city of Wageningen from WICC. Additionally, there is also ample private parking available for conference participants. If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle at the reception and explore Wageningen in a fun and active way. Alternatively, a bus stop is located just 250 meters away from the venue, providing easy access to the beautiful sights in the surrounding area. For more information, please visit the WICC website.

Travel information

If you are flying to the Netherlands for the conference, you will arrive at Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam). From there, you can travel to Wageningen by train and bus. To use public transportation in the Netherlands, we advise you to purchase an 'OV-chipkaart' at the Schiphol service points. This will allow you to travel on all public transportation in the country and is the most cost-effective and efficient way to get to the conference venue.

When travelling by train from Schiphol Airport to Wageningen, please note that there is no railway station in Wageningen. You will need to stop at a station called Ede-Wageningen, which is about 8 km from Wageningen. To reach Wageningen by train from Schiphol Airport or Amsterdam, look for trains headed to Arnhem and Nijmegen. There is a train every half an hour from both stations. If you miss the direct train, you can take a train to Utrecht and change there. Tickets can be purchased at the yellow ticket machines or at the Service Desk of the railway company (NS) on Schiphol Plaza, or online at the NS website. Make sure to buy a ticket before getting on the train. A train ticket from Schiphol to Ede-Wageningen train station will cost you approximately €18. If you are unable to purchase a train ticket at the ticket office or ticket machine, inform the conductor before boarding the train. The conductor will sell you a ticket on the train, but it will cost you €65. Refer to the 9292.nl website for accurate info on public transport connections, delays etc.

To get to Wageningen centre from Ede-Wageningen station, you can take Bus No. 303 or 86 or a taxi, which costs approximately €30. From Arnhem station, you can take Bus No. 51 or 52 to Wageningen bus station. Tickets are available online or at the bus station. For more information on the trains and buses schedule and tickets, please click here. It takes only 5 minutes to walk from Wageningen bus station to the WICC hotel.

If you're travelling by car, Wageningen is accessible via several highways: A12 from Utrecht or Arnhem, which passes to the North; A15 from Tiel, which passes to the South, and A50 from Nijmegen, which passes to the East.

Short Stay Wageningen

Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant De Wageningsche Berg

This hotel has a picturesque location and offers a view over the river, the floodplains, and the Betuwe. It is located at the edge of town and is a 35-minute walk or 10-minute bike ride away from the venue, as well as a 7-minute walk from a bus stop. Room prices range between €50 and €100. Rooms can be booked through the hotel website based on availability.

Hotel Reehorst (Ede)

Located right next to the Ede-Wageningen train and bus station, this hotel is well connected with Schiphol Airport (1 hour by train) as well as with the conference venue (25 minutes by bus). Rooms can be booked through the hotel website based on availability.

Arnhem

The city of Arnhem lies 20 kilometers to the East of Wageningen. Arnhem is the capital of Gelderland province and is located on the banks of the rivers Nederrijn (Lower Rhine) and Sint-Jansbeek. It is well connected to the conference venue by a bus line, going every 15 minutes from Arnhem Central Station to Wageningen Bus Station. The bus ride takes 30 minutes. It is well reachable by car as well. We plan to organise shuttle bus transportation between Arnhem and Wageningen if required.

Van der Valk Arnhem

This hotel is located outside of Arnhem, and it is about 20 minute drive away from Wageningen. Unlike the other two hotels in Arnhem, there are no direct public transport connections to the venue. A shuttle bus will be organised for transportation between Van der Valk Arnhem and Wageningen each morning and afternoon. If you are arriving by car and can drive to the venue, this is a very good accommodation option.
