Field Trips

To make conference delegates experience local ecosystem services in the area, the LOC is developing the field trip programs. For now, three sites are selected in and around Shenzhen. We are still compiling the programs for each trip, so the below is subject to change:

1. Yuanshan Scenic Resort - Xianhu Botanical Garden
2. Bijiashan Park – Lianhuashan Park – Xiangmi Park
3. International Gardenand Flower Expo Park – OCT Wetland Park – Shenzhen Bay Park

 

1. Yuanshan Scenic Resort - Xianhu Botanical Garden

Themes: birdwatching, boating, plants

Program (might be subject to change)

• 8:00 – 8:40 start from Kylin Villa (VIP guest building, main gate)
• 8:40 – 12:00 Yuanshan Scenic Resort

We will first watch the birds, it is a perfect time to watch different kinds of migratory birds in Shenzhen during November and December. It will be extremely exciting if you are interested in birdwatching. Afterwards, we will go for boating and enjoy nice views of the surroundings. After this we will walk through the Yuanshan Scenic Resort.

• 14:00 – 17:30 Xianhu Botanical Garden

Here we can enjoy different types of beautiful and sometimes rare plants. The garden is very large, and contains some nice lakes and also a small geomorphology museum.

• 17:30 – 18:10 return to Kylin Villa

2. Bijiashan Park – Lianhuashan Park – Xiangmi Park

• 7:30 – 8:00 start from Kylin Villa (VIP guest building, main gate)
• 8:00 – 10:00 Bijiashan Park

Early morning is the best time of day to watch birds. Here we will have a look at the water pollution treatment project which is one of the exemplars of SHENZHEN and also China. We will also have chance to watch different kinds of migratory birds. If the weather is nice, it will be a very comfortable place to stay and enjoy the birdwatching. We will probably spend 1-1.5 hours here to enjoy the nature and birds.

Here we can see some special plants, it is a park typical for South China.

A beautiful park designed by three of best design companies in Shenzhen.

• 17:00 – 17:40 return to Kylin Villa

3.International Gardenand Flower Expo Park – OCT Wetland Park – Shenzhen Bay Park

• 8:00 – 8:40 start from Kylin Villa (VIP guest building, main gate)
• 8:40 – 10:00 International Garden and Flower Expo Park

Here we can see nearly all the Chinese plants together.

• 10:10 – 10:35 move to OCT Wetland Park
• 10:35 – 12:00 OCT Wetland Park

Here we can very typical wetlands in south China.

• 12:20 – 13:40 Lunch and break
• 13:40 – 14:00 on the way to next point
• 14:20 – 17:00 Shenzhen Bay Park

Here besides the nice view of the Bay park, we will also visit the Shenzhen Bay Natural School, where we can know the history of Shenzhen.
