Welcome

Welcome to the 9th Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP) world conference! Ecosystem Services for Eco-civilization: Restoring connections between people and landscapes through nature-based solutions was chosen as theme.

The ESP9 world conference was organised in Shenzhen, China from 11-15 December 2017. China has a rapidly expanding community of scientists publishing innovative ecosystem services work in international journals, and a growing number of policy-makers and practitioners. This conference aimed to bring both the national and international ecosystem services community together to achieve a more sustainable and eco-friendly society.

The program contained a broad range of topics on the latest state-of-the-art on the science, policy and practice of ecosystem services. Conference keynotes covered diverse aspect of the overarching theme. Sessions were determined by the participants and provided ample space for the many ESP Working Groups, National Networks and service teams to get together and bring the science, policy and practice further.

This conference was jointly organised by SUSTech and ESP in collaboration with Tsinghua University and SERB. The selected venue for this conference was Kylin Villa Shenzhen, China. To remain up-to-date regarding the latest conference developments, we recommend you to subscribe to our ESP Update.

Keynote presentations

During the week eight keynotes provided their views on Ecosystem Services for Eco-Civilization. Their presentations can be viewed here.

Conference proceedings

Please check the conference proceedings for all collected presentations, book of abstracts and abstracts of poster presentations. Conference photos will still be uploaded. The presentations are uploaded in Google Drive, so not accessible in China currently. We are thinking of a work around still.

If your presentation isn't included in the sessions, but you would like us to upload it, please send it to us and include in which session the presentation was given.
