Field trips

The Local Organising Committee created special field trip programs for ESP8 participants relating to the conference theme 'Ecosystem Services for Nature, People and Prosperity'. They all combined interesting visits with leisure time and the opportunity to explore the surroundings of Stellenbosch/Cape region.

This year the field trips took place on Wednesday 11 November. Five full day field trip were offered, please click on the link to read the outline of each trip: 

1. Cape Point & Ecosystem restoration projects (max. 60 people)

2. Agulhas Plain & Agulhas Biodiversity Initiative (ABI) Alien Clearing Project (max. 60 people)

3. Wildlands Treepreneur project & visit to either Astral poultry farm or Vergenoegd Wine Estate (max. 50 people)

4. Paarl/Hermon: cleaning Berg river & Wine tasting (max. 40 people) 

5. Boland Mountains/Bot River Estuary/Cape Whale Coast (max. 40 people)
